James is a warm, inclusive, and practical psychologist who works with adults experiencing psychological difficulties following workplace injury or stress. He provides a supportive and collaborative space to help individuals regain confidence, rebuild functioning, and move toward meaningful recovery and return to work. James has experience supporting clients with a broad range of presentations, including workplace stress, psychological injury, trauma, anxiety, depression, and adjustment difficulties. He also works with individuals navigating complex challenges such as chronic stress, burnout, substance use, and neurodivergence. With a background in performance psychology, James brings a strong understanding of motivation, identity, and resilience under pressure. He has worked with elite athletes, performers, and individuals in high-demand roles, supporting them to manage stress, overcome barriers, and perform at their best in challenging environments. James utilises a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). His approach is flexible and goal-oriented, with a focus on building practical skills, improving emotional regulation, and supporting sustainable recovery. He is particularly interested in helping clients reconnect with their values, rebuild a sense of identity following injury, and develop the psychological flexibility needed to return to work and everyday life with confidence. James works with clients aged 17+ and offers telehealth sessions.
